Maimonides Medical Center

Hi my name is Shuhrat Aripov aka Sean. I'm interning at Maimonides Medical Center, and this hospital is one of those top 26 hospitals in New York City. Maimonides Medical Center founded in 1911 as the New Utrecht Dispensary.   The institution is named after Rabbi Moshe Ben Maimon the. The 12th century philosopher who established the concept of medicine as a natural science. 

 Here's the little description of my supervisor.

My supervisor's name is Adam Korn and he's the Manager of Patient Transport at Maimonides Medical Center, and he do not have any other offices.


2. Describe six characteristics of your supervisor. 

• He is a leader 
• He gets his hands dirty whenever it need to be 
• He tries to keep doing his best 
• Keeps the balance over the department and its employees 
• Good Mentor 
• Good advisor 

3. Describe several details of the environment where you work. Look at the physical space for information, things such as the size of the office, the colors on the walls, the neighborhood you work, the number of people working there, the noise level, etc. 

• The place where i work sometimes i too noisy, and sometimes it’s too quite. The place or office i work in is really small, and there is about 15 employees work there. Of course not all of them fit in. They're all all coming to the office to pick up their jobs and then they are leaving this office. This tiny office has only 2 computers, these are only for the manager, and for the operator, that means i don't get any computer at all.

4. Who else do you see at your internship? 

·         At my internship i see a lot of different kind of doctors, and nurses. Also in hospital i work i see a lot of different people. Since the place where i intern is from Jewish descent and majority of people are Jews. At this hospital i also met a people with human experience that i have learned something from them.

5. What tasks have you completed at internship so far? 

• My task was is to getting close myself with medicine. Before i had no idea with hospital and medicine stuffs or the way the medicine works, but now i learned a little bit of everything while i'm in this hospital.

6. What is your exact schedule so far and what time are you arriving home each day? 

• Everyday i have different schedule, and everyday mostly i arrive at 6pm. I also had to change my schedule by my own 2 times.

7. Share anything else you would like to share about your internship so far. 

• I've been in that kind of awkward position, and everyone does. For the first day of your internship or work it's going to be really boring, which means you have to get to know with the place you working in and the people your work with.
